RESUMEN // ABSTRACT
Faced with the proposal to build a hotel and the condition of maintaining the structure and aesthetics of the current House of Carnicería, some aspects of the area are analyzed. From the conclusions drawn, a program consisting of Airbnb accommodation, spiritual retreat in the city and cleaning the air in the area is thought. The purpose of this choice is to create a combination of uses that guarantees both an optimal benefit for the client and a respectful attitude towards the building and its context.
Due to the high demand for Airbnb and the new law which forces to have an independent entrance for Airbnb, we answer by placing the most demanded Airbnb’s, recreated literally. The location of these Airbnbs will create a series of interstitial spaces that will be occupied by the spiritual retreat.
These two uses are complemented by a third one: cleaning the air. This will be carried out by a catenary structure on the roof and a substructure that will incorporate the proposed prototype is connected to it. The prototype is made up of a structure of 16 mm diameter PVC tubes joined to form a geometric pattern, to this structure is added a removable tray of plants covered by a photocatalytic fabric. This combination will clean the air in the area of pollutants such as CO2, NOx, SOx, and PM10 particles.
A space with natural conditions is created in the heart of Madrid.
Ante la propuesta de hacer un hotel y la condición de mantener la estructura y la estética de la actual Casa de la Carnicería se analizan algunos aspectos de la zona. De las conclusiones extraídas se piensa un programa que consta de alojamiento de airbnb, retiro espiritual en la ciudad y limpieza del aire de la zona. El propósito de esta elección es crear una combinación de usos que garantice tanto un beneficio óptimo para el cliente como una actitud respetuosa con el edificio y su contexto.
Debido a la alta demanda de Airbnb y la nueva ley (que prohibirá el acceso compartido a los mismos con los vecinos), contestamos situando los Airbnb’s más demandados, recreados de forma literal. La situación de estos Airbnb en la planta de la Casa de la Carnicería creará una serie de espacios intersticiales que será ocupado por el retiro espiritual.
Estos dos usos se complementan con un tercero, la limpieza del aire. Ésta se realizará mediante una estructura de catenarias en la cubierta, a ella se conecta una subestructura que incorporará el prototipo propuesto. El prototipo está formado por una estructura de tubos de PVC de 16 mm de diámetro unidos formando un patrón geométrico, a esta estructura se añade una bandeja extraíble de plantas cubierta por una tela foto- catalítica. Esta combinación limpiará el aire de la zona de contaminantes como el CO2, los NOx, los SOx y las partículas PM10.
Creamos así un espacio con condiciones de naturales dentro del pleno centro de Madrid.
